Adds an Excerpt Length field setting to the Reading Settings section of your WordPress dashboard. This setting allows you to specify the number of words that you want to display in the <a href="https://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags/the_excerpt" rel="external">the_excerpt()</a> function.

Инсталиране

Download the plugin zip file.
Upload the change-excerpt-length folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.
Navigate to Settings Reading and set your desired excerpt length.

Why did you create this plugin?: Previously, changing the excerpt length required either editing core files (formatting.php), adding a filter to functions.php in your theme, or using another plugin that might require additional configuration. This plugin simply adds a field in the Reading Settings section to let you adjust the number of words displayed by the_excerpt().
Does this plugin work with WordPress version x.x.x?: This plugin works with WordPress 4.0 and above. It utilizes the WordPress Settings API introduced in WordPress 2.7 but has been tested on more recent versions to ensure compatibility.
Does this plugin affect the formatting of `the_excerpt()`?: No, this plugin only changes the number of words displayed by the_excerpt() but does not affect its formatting. Any customization to the appearance of excerpts would need to be handled by your theme.
