This plug-in remove all comments from your current word press site. When Plug-in is active its remove all comments for all user. You can also remove comments from specific post type.
You have a option to removed comments only from posts or pages.
You can also remove from custom post type. For that you have to add code in your current theme`s function.php file.
Note: When you select „Yes“ to „Do you want to remove all comments?“ Its override all other option settings.
My site has 177 comments I wanted to get rid of.
Straight after the installation of this plugin, I get the following message:
„Its looks there are many comments in your website. This plugin will not work with your website. You can get full version from here (link to the paid version).“
Dude, If you want to release a free version of the plugin and submit it to the WordPress plugin inventory, at least make it do something useful!
This is a waste of time.
The website said it might not be compatible, the website warned me this might not be what I wanted.
Oh it was EXACTLY what I wanted and needed. The „auto“ approval of the comments on photos was something I had initially tried to turn off using the steps a when I setup the site, but at first it only worked on posts. Once I found the option to address the individual photos, it had already collected 260000+ comments in less than a few weeks.
The client wanted NO comments at all. After all this time, I found this application, and they are GONE.
Thank you!
Update.php had a warning but otherwise the plug in worked wonderfully. I’m not clear what the author suggest be done after such an operation. I just wanted to remove the two thousand „ping-back“ crap comments that infected my site, then return to normal operations for a media campaign. So after the Purge, I went back to „remove comments“ on my dash and debated about whether it was necessary to change the settings to „no.“ I wondered if leaving them at „yes“ meant that it would continuously purge new comments. Then I decided why have this plugin active at all, so I deactivated it.
I’m glad to keep the plugin installed for next time things get out of control.
